4PDFs is a participant in the ELAI Ecosystem. The verification surface — where anyone can validate a signed PDF without an account, without paying, without proprietary software — stays free in perpetuity by Charter obligation (Charter §3.6).
You sign PDFs as a Free, Day Pass, or Pro user. Anyone in the world can verify them as a free visitor, anonymously, or with their own open-source library. The ecosystem only works if verification stays open. So it does.

When should I pick Day Pass vs Pro?
Math: Pro at $9.99/mo costs about $0.33/day. Day Pass costs $29 once. So if you'd use 4PDFs intensively on more than 3 days per year, Pro is cheaper. If you have one closing, one client crunch, one tax deadline that needs lots of PDF work — Day Pass. If 4PDFs is part of your weekly workflow — Pro. Pro also gets you the custom signed-PDF branding, which Day Pass doesn't.
Can I cancel Pro anytime?
Yes. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period — you keep Pro access until then. No fees, no questions. Manage your subscription through the Stripe Customer Portal we link from your account page.
When does Pro actually launch?
We're building the subscription backend now. Early access list opens today via the "Get early access" button on the Pro card — leave us your email and we'll notify you the moment it ships, with founding-member pricing locked in. In the meantime, Day Pass is fully live and handles intensive one-time use cases.
Is Day Pass refundable?
Yes — within 1 hour of purchase. After that, the 24-hour clock starts and the pass is non-refundable. The 1-hour window is there in case you complete checkout and immediately realize you meant to do something else.
What's ELAI? Why do I see it everywhere?
ELAI is the open cryptographic trust protocol behind 4PDFs and every other product in the AmericaFirst4Us ecosystem. When you sign a PDF on 4PDFs, you're producing an artifact that anyone with an Ed25519 library can verify — no proprietary software required. Read the ELAI Ecosystem Charter if you want the deep version.
Do you store my files?
Free tier: files are processed in-memory or temporarily and auto-deleted after 1 hour. Day Pass: same, 24-hour retention while pass is active. Pro tier: 7-day retention as an opt-in convenience. We don't read, index, train on, or sell file contents. Ever.
Why is verification free forever?
Because 4PDFs is a participant in the ELAI Ecosystem, and the Charter obligates every participant to make verification accessible without proprietary software. If we charged for verification, we'd be the gatekeeper between signed artifacts and the people verifying them — which is exactly the surveillance position the ecosystem is structurally designed to prevent. So verification stays free. Always.
Is there a team or business plan?
Coming. We're focused on shipping the personal Pro tier first. Multi-user team workspaces, SSO, audit logs, and API access are on the roadmap. Email us if you have a specific team-scale need and we'll keep you posted.
Can I use 4PDFs without creating an account?
Free tier and Day Pass: no full account required (Day Pass uses email-verified access). Pro tier: account required (Stripe needs to know who's billing). The free experience requires nothing of you.
